Public Lands in the United States of America (or more so the history of Post-Colonial Texas)

I came across this youtube video the other day: The History and Future of America’s Public Land with Walt Dabney

Walt Dabney is a retired Park Ranger, spending 43 years in the field and revolutionized the Texas public park system. During his time in the field, he’s seen a vast amount of North America and learned quite a bit about it too. He kindly shared his knowledge in a presentation called “The History and Future of America’s Public Land.”

One particular anecdote he shared was when the Mormons settled in the salt plains of Utah, Texas was part of Mexico.
